They are often called upon to splice wires with knives or cutting pliers, and solder connections to fixtures and equipment. They are expected to set up new fuses or power sources as required. Finally, electronics mechanics adjust or remove faulty wiring and relays in ignition, lighting, air-conditioning, and safety control systems, using electrician's tools.
