Flight attendants conduct periodic trips through the cabin to insure passenger comfort and to distribute reading material and blankets. They also greet customers boarding aircraft and direct them to assigned seats. Equally important, flight attendants have to answer customers' questions about flights, aircraft, weather, travel routes and services or schedules. They are often called upon to assist customers in placing carry-on luggage in overhead or under-seat storage. They are expected to reassure customers when situations such as turbulence are encountered. Finally, flight attendants collect money for meals and beverages.

Every day, flight attendants are expected to be able to articulate ideas and problems. It is also important that they listen to and understand others in meetings.
