In general, electrical assistants help electricians by performing duties of lesser skill. They also duties include using, supplying or holding materials or tools, and cleaning work area and equipment.

Every day, electrical assistants are expected to be able to twist and stretch their arms and legs to get work done. They need to move quickly in order to hold onto or control objects and devices. It is also important that they see details at a very fine level of focus.
