They also massage and knead muscles and soft tissues of the body to furnish treatment for medical conditions or wellness maintenance. They are often called upon to assess clients' soft tissue condition, joint quality and function and range of motion. They are expected to design and propose client treatment plans that specify which types of massage are to be used. Every day, massage therapists are expected to be able to articulate ideas and problems. They need to listen to and understand others in meetings.
