Equally important, petroleum engineers have to write technical summaries for engineering and management personnel. They are often called upon to evaluate findings to design or test equipment or processes. They are expected to analyze data to recommend placement of wells and supplementary processes to enhance production. Finally, petroleum engineers assist engineering and other personnel to solve operating problems.
