In general, educational program directors plan, direct, or coordinate the academic, clerical, or auxiliary activities of public or private elementary or secondary level schools.

Educational program directors ready and submit budget requests and recommendations, or grant proposals to solicit program funding. They also ready or oversee the preparation and maintenance of attendance or personnel reports and records. Equally important, educational program directors have to talk with parents and staff to consider educational efforts and student behavioral or learning problems.
