Finally, sales team managers listen to and resolve customer complaints regarding services or personnel.

Every day, sales team managers are expected to be able to articulate ideas and problems. They need to listen to and understand others in meetings.

It is important for sales team managers to direct and supervise employees working on sales, inventory-taking, reconciling cash receipts, or performing specific services, such as pumping gasoline for clients. They are often called upon to make ready sales and inventory summaries for management and budget departments. They also direct sales promotion efforts. They are sometimes expected to analyze specifics of sales territories to gauge their growth potential and to set quotas.
