Every day, route delivery drivers are expected to be able to articulate ideas and problems. They need to listen to and understand others in meetings.

It is important for route delivery drivers to listen to and resolve patrons' complaints regarding products or services. They are often called upon to collect money from patrons and record transactions on customer receipts. They also inform regular patrons of new products or services and price changes. They are sometimes expected to record sales or delivery data on daily sales or delivery record.
