They are expected to collect and discard worn machine parts and other refuse so as to maintain machinery and work areas. Finally, machine repairmen inventory and requisition machine parts and other supplies so that stock can be maintained and replenished.
Every day, machine repairmen are expected to be able to evaluate problems as they arise. They need to control objects and devices with precise control. It is also important that they listen to and understand others in meetings.
It is important for machine repairmen to transport machine parts and other material between work areas and storage, using cranes, hoists, or dollies. They are often called upon to assemble and operate equipment, and adjust controls to regulate operations.
