Chronological and Functional Resumes

Many people believe that the perfect resume will land them the perfect job. However, the reality is that the perfect resume will typically do little more than land you an interview. The purpose of a resume is to help you get your foot in the door - nothing more, nothin less. Consquently, you don't have to tell you entire story via your resume. Your resume should be designed to help potential employers see that you're a qualified candidate worth interviewing. Resume formats come in all shapes and sizes. The most common resume format are chronological and functional. Deciding which resume format is ideal for you depend in large part on where you've been and where you wish to go next.
