Community College Hopes to Increase Enrollment

Barbara Douglass, president of Northwest Connecticut Community College (NCCC), recently told The Register Citizen that the institution’s nursing program is looking to expand.

Connie Hotchkiss, the academic division director of nursing, recently accompanied Douglass to the Torrington Rotary Club, where they spoke about the program.

Douglass said the nursing program is made possible through community support in the form of private donations. Sharon and Charlotte Hungerford hospitals have offered a total of $300,000, in addition to offering students a place to perform their clinical requirements.
