Online Bachelor Degrees

Sometimes referred to as a “four-year degree”, a bachelor’s degree is an undergraduate degree that is offered at four-year colleges and universities. Bachelor’s degrees require 120-128 semester credits, 60 of which can be transferred from community, junior, or technical colleges. Bachelor’s degree programs involve general education, major courses in a specific field, and electives.

Types of Bachelor’s Degree Programs:

There are two primary kinds of bachelor’s degrees: the Bachelor of Arts (BA or AB) and the Bachelor of Science (BS or BSc)

  • Bachelor of Arts: This degree takes four years to complete for students who are enrolled full-time. A BA is for students whose primary interest is in the social sciences, humanities, liberal arts, or fine arts.
  • Bachelor of Science: This degree also takes four years to complete. It is for students whose primary interest is in the hard sciences, e.g. biological sciences, physical sciences, or mathematics.
